Assigning Permissions

Permissions can be assigned on a Site Collection level, Subsite level, App/list level, folder or item (file) level.

NOTE: Assigning permissions is awesome if done correctly the first time. You can easily tweak what users can and can’t access using the steps listed above.

If a user would need access to a folder but not the document library and the other contents within it we would stop inheritance on that folder level. This would make this folder an entity of its own and would now have unique permissions.
